Journalism students benefit from hands-on experience and in-depth study of the theory and philosophy behind the profession. Emphasis is on print and broadcast media.

Students can write for the school newspaper as early as their freshmen year, and upperclassmen are encouraged to take leadership positions. Thanks to our small classes, professors are able to provide personalized instruction to students who wish to hone their writing skills.

Our required senior internship placements provide a solid start to future employment. Placements are available in print, broadcast and public relations or may be individually designed based on your career goals.

A sampling of course offerings include:

  • News and Feature Writing
  • Film Studies
  • Photography
  • Editing and Layout
  • Magazine Article Writing
  • Public Relations
  • Broadcasting
