Students pursuing a degree in physical education may choose from a bachelor of arts or a bachelor of science degree in any one of five concentrations:

Physical Education: Non-teaching Physical Education: PK-12 Sport Management Wellness/Sports Medicine

 

Physical Education majors are strongly urged to develop in-depth competency in at least one performance area or one sport. A minor in coaching is also available.

Averett's Physical Education graduates are prepared for careers in:

• Teaching
• Managing athletic clubs and corporate fitness facilities
• Coaching
• Physical therapy
• Sports-related businesses
• Recreation
• Graduate school
