Academic Honors at Graduation
During graduation, undergraduate students are recognized
with academic honors
To be eligible for honors at graduation:
- A student must have earned at least 33 semester hours at Averett
- All coursework completed at other institutions will be taken into account
- GPA information from other institutions will be considered even if no credit was transferred in
- In calculating a GPA, the overall honors GPA cannot exceed the GPA a student has earned at Averett
- The cumulative grade point averages that must be earned for honors at graduation are as follows:
Summa Cum Laude
3.80 grade point average or above
Magna Cum Laude
3.60 - 3.79 grade point average
Cum Laude
3.40 - 3.59 grade point average
