Master Chefs Think you’re the next Rachel Ray or Emeril? Send in your recipes for an "Averett Cookbook" to Sandy Bash at sbash@averett.edu. Make sure you include your name on the recipe. Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day The Athletics Department is holding a Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day on Friday, Feb. 22 during the men’s and women’s basketball games. Refreshments will be served in the Campbell Room between games. The women’s game starts at 5:30 p.m. and the men’s game follows at 7:30 p.m. Come cheer on the Cougars and enjoy refreshments! Please RSVP by Feb. 18 to 15700. Author’s on Campus Poet and novelist Joanna Catherine Scott will speak at 7:30 p.m. March 31 in Blount Chapel. She will discuss her novel, "The Road from Chapel Hill," and speak about the writer’s craft. Copies of her novel will be on sale in the Averett bookstore and the night of the lecture for $11.76 (tax included). Visit the Holy Land Religion professor Dr. Bill Trimyer will be leading a trip for students and interested members of the community to the Holy Land Dec. 9-18, 2008. The trip costs $1,798, but discounts are available with early registration. The trip will include visits to: Galilee, Capernaum, Nazareth, Bethlehem and Jerusalem. |

Dr. Becky Clark and her son, Averett student Jon Sells, would like to thank the entire Averett community for their condolences and support following the death of Becky’s mother and J.C.’s grandmother, Lillian Clark.  Faculty/Staff Recognized for ServiceNine faculty and staff members were recognized for their service to Averett during Founders’ Day Jan. 24. Recognized for 15 years of service were Dr. Richard Ferguson and Dr. Alice Obenchain-Leeson. Recognized for 20 years of service were Kendall Carter, Christine Davis, Dr. Tommy Foster and Dr. Anne Lewis.
