Travel to Israel Religion professor Dr. Bill Trimyer will be leading a trip to the Holy Land Dec. 9-18. The trip costs $1,798, but discounts are available with early registration. Travelers will visit: Galilee, Capernaum, Nazareth, Bethlehem and Jerusalem. Students interested in earning three credit hours in conjunction with the trip can register for Rel 399.
Scottish Invasion A representative from the University of Dundee in Scotland, Averett’s newest study abroad partner, will be on campus Wednesday, March 5 from 1-2 p.m. in Blount Chapel.

Welcome, Carly! The women’s soccer team has a new head coach in Carly Pearce. Carly joins Averett from Roanoke College where she was an assistant women’s soccer coach.
Good Luck, Jerry! Director of Admissions Jerry McCombs will be leaving Averett Feb. 29 to take a football coaching position at Methodist College. Best wishes to Jerry as he moves on. Head Athletic Trainer Melissa McCombs will be leaving at the end of the semester to join Jerry in Fayetteville.
Dodson Wins Averett Sweatshirt The winner of the AU Security Alert System sign up contest was senior Samantha Dodson who won an Averett sweatshirt. Dodson is one of more than 530 people to register for the new alert system. A Chatham resident, Dodson is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in business administration: management science.

Finnish Professor Teaches Business Classes Dr. Brett Fifield, principal lecturer at Finland’s Lahti University of Applied Sciences, visited campus Feb. 18-22, and was a guest lecturer at several GPS and traditional program business classes. Averett has an exchange agreement with Lahti. Assistant Professor of Business Administration Dr. Jeff Woo recently returned from a visit to the Finnish university.
