QEP Continues its Work to Expand Reading Across Campus
Another layer of initiatives will be added to the Reading Critically for Success plan. The initiatives include: faculty/staff training and the creation of a new online course for incoming freshmen called Successful Reading. Programs started this year such as peer tutoring, the USA Today Readership program, literacy activities and Authors on Campus will continue. Authors on Campus will bring in the very popular Sharyn McCrumb on Sept. 22.

Promotions and Tenure
Dr. Jeff Woo received tenure
Dr. Genevieve Moene and Dr. Alice Obenchain-Leeson were promoted to associate professor and received tenure
Dr. Lee Burton was promoted to associate professor
Richard Breen, Jackie Finney and Dr. Laura Hartman were promoted to professor
Congratulations, everyone!


Faculty and Staff Person of the Year Named
Dr. Tommy Foster, professor of physical education, wellness/sport science, was named the Faculty Member of the Year during a reception April 24 in the dining Hall. Elaine Day, director of the library and associate professor was named the Staff Member of the Year. Congratulations, Tommy and Elaine!
