Willeford Estate Gift Makes Campus Improvements Possible
Even though Danville resident Anna Bowles Ferrell Willeford was not an Averett graduate she believed in the university and its mission to prepare students for success after graduation. Because of that belief, she provided for the university in her will.
The gift from the Willeford Estate will allow the university to complete a number of projects over the summer and into the fall including:
· High speed Internet in all residences
· Restroom renovations in Davenport, Bishop and Danville Halls
· Installation of new windows in Davenport, Bishop, Danville and Fugate Halls
· Upgrade business office software
· Increasing university communications bandwidth
· Paint, interior and exterior of Frith Hall
· Relocate Information Technology offices
· Enhance security systems with the addition of cameras in selected high traffic areas
· Systematic van replacement
· Replacement of field equipment
· Resurface tennis courts
· Resurface selected parking lots
