Jut's Café Open this Summer
Jut's Café and the convenience store will be open for business this summer from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. beginning Monday, May 19. Breakfast items, sandwiches and wraps are available. Box lunches may be ordered by calling ext. 15017 by 10:30 a.m. to ensure request is ready by noon. For larger orders, call a day in advance.

Welcome, Donna!
The Admissions Office is pleased to welcome Donna Benz as a new admissions counselor. Donna is a 2001 graduate of Kutztown University with a bachelor of science degree in general studies/library science.







Nickens Publishes Articles
Adjunct Religion Professor Dr. Mark Nickens has written several articles for the "Encyclopedia of Time," which will be published in January 2009. His articles include "Kabbalah," "Meister Eckhart," "Nirvana," "Parousia," "Predestination," "Salvation" and "Qur'an." Mark has taught at Averett since 2000.


Graduate Takes Position in Admissions
James Thurnes, '07, is another new counselor in admissions. James graduated with a degree in sociology/criminal justice and a minor in religion. He was a member of the football team, Honors Society, Alpha Kappa Delta, the International Sociology Honor Society and the FCA.






Lewis Presents Paper at Pa. Conference
Dr. Anne Lewis recently presented a paper titled "The Value of Musical Theatre as an Educational Experience," at the Super-Regional Conference of the College Music Society at Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pa. The conference included members from Georgia to Maine.

Daria Ransome, an MBA student in Richmond, is the new assistant to the dean for the GPS Program. She previously worked as a part-time assistant academic advisor in the Central Virginia Region.
