Title: Director, Academic Resource Center

Position Description/Application Process
The director of the Academic Resource Center (ARC) implements, coordinates, and supervises Averett University’s tutoring programs.

Qualifications include:

. The director’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

developing innovative tutoring services for academic and campus departments, including athletics.
expanding existing program to reach and support students enrolled in Averett’s graduate and online programs.
creating and distributing all ARC promotional materials and working closely with faculty and student organizations to encourage use and participation.
acting as the institution’s liaison for students with disabilities and coordinating student accommodation needs.
playing an integral role as a member of the Early Alert Team, Student Success Committee, and other committees related to student academic performance.
facilitating and implementing center assessment plans.
recruiting, training, hiring, and scheduling ARC tutors.
maintaining tutor documents, such as applications and evaluations.
reporting relevant student use to correct constituents.
managing the center’s annual budget.
administering CLEP tests to undergraduate and graduate students.
other duties as assigned.

A bachelor’s degree is required. A master’s degree in higher education or a related field, and experience in higher education and a background in teaching are preferred. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are essential. The director of the Academic Resource Center will be an integral part of Averett’s new Student Success Center.

Title: Coordinator of Curriculum Development
Department: Graduate and Professional Studies
Location: Main Campus, Danville

Position Description/Application Process
This professional position is responsible for the systems and processes related to curriculum creation and revision, quality control, and contracting. The position is also responsible for faculty, staff, and student training related to program learning management systems and faculty development related to the curriculum and module development process.

Qualifications include:

Masters degree in related field required (Education preferred). Must have three to five years experience in curriculum development. Training and experience in adult education preferred. Must be detail oriented and possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implements and maintains a comprehensive curriculum review process to ensure quality curriculum in all GPS programs
Assists in the evaluation of GPS curriculum for clarity and consistency as individual courses within a larger program
Prepares and maintains curriculum development schedule for all GPS programs and courses
Coordinates, with appropriate faculty and professional staff, the creation of new courses and revisions of existing courses
Identifies and recommends appropriate module writers
Supervises and generates requests for curriculum revisions and development contracts with module writers to develop, write, edit, and revise curriculum guides
Serves as a resource to module writers during the development and revision of courses
Evaluates end-of-course surveys and coordinates with faculty and staff to determine need for curriculum and module revision
Oversees the integration of appropriate instructional technology (hardware and software) to bring learning resources to the student
Identifies, coordinates, and conducts training for faculty, staff, and students on learning management systems and resources
Develops and conducts comprehensive faculty development program for module writers and teaching faculty on curriculum processes and methods associated with the GPS program
Maintains up-to-date listing of text and learning resources for use by faculty and students
Serves as liaison with bookstore operations to ensure adequate inventory of textbooks and learning resources
Serves as liaison with IPD Academic Services Curriculum Development personnel
Serves as the GPS contact person for publisher representatives
Other duties as assigned

This person is responsible for driving sales, financial management and ensuring store profit and productivity goals are met. Area of responsibility includes over a Million in sales volume with 70% of sales in text. Key components of this management position would include:

Providing outstanding customer service to a diverse customer base including faculty, students, and staff
Demonstrating financial and business acumen
Monitors cash flow, inventory, and security controls
Achieves all store financial, revenue and expense targets
Monitors daily and weekly sales; analyzes reports to ensure monthly sales budget is achieved
Models and manages effective supervision to drive sales while maintaining exceptional customer service and store standards
Consistently monitors and adjusts sales forecasts to ensure labor is utilized to optimize sales generation
Leads efforts to reduce in-store shrink activity through Loss Prevention education, awareness and compliance
Ensures the safety of company funds, assets, personnel, customers and property and adherence of policies governing the acceptance of credit cards and checks
Manages the visual presentations to create an exciting shopping environment for customers
Providing an atmosphere with open and honest communication that respects the ideas and opinions of others

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or similar experience required
Two to three years of retail management within the bookstore industry preferred

Title: IT Technician
Department: Averett University IT Department

Position Description/Application Process
This is a full time position with complete benefit package.

Qualifications include:

Diagnosing and repairing PC computers and laptops. Familiarity with SQL database usage and some programming experience. Should have familiarity with networking and be able to diagnose network connectivity problems. Experience with Microsoft AD/client connectivity, email, and printer issues is necessary. Help desk experience or training users in computer usage and resolving problems is also necessary.

Wiring standards, telephone systems, and/or wireless experience helpful. Must have a car and ability to travel to regional campuses. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
