VIVA, the Virtual Library of Virginia has licensed the EBSCO "Complete" databases on behalf of Virginia's public and independent colleges and universities. Academic Search Complete replaces Averett's subscriptions to Academic OneFile and Expanded Academic (InfoTrac). Business Source Complete expands coverage previously available from Business Source Premier. Twenty-three specialty databases included in this package from EBSCO Information Systems are described below.
Journalism majors will find a wealth of new content in Communication & Mass Media Complete and Newspaper Source Plus.
Computer and Information Science majors can now search for articles and research in Computers & Applied Sciences Complete.
Education Research Complete, with full text of 900 scholarly journals, complements the ERIC index for articles and research in education.
Arts and humanities scholars will find peer reviewed, full text articles in Humanities International Complete and the Religion and Philosophy Collection.
In addition to BioOne and Wiley InterScience (previously Blackwell-Synergy), Biology majors can now tap full text resources in Environment Complete, Health Source -Nursing/Academic Edition, and AltHealthWatch.
The Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection provides full text of over 550 peer reviewed journals. Psychology majors should however continue to search in PsycInfo, then link out to full text in this database and PsycArticles.
Test your foreign language reading skills with scholarly academic journals in Fuente Academica, medical literature in MedicLatina, Salud en Espanol (Spanish language version of Consumer Health Complete), or the French language business database, Vente et Gestion.
