13. Save, Print, Email, Scan, Articles

Print your articles, save them electronically, or send them to yourself as email attachments. Each database has different ways of doing these things.

You can burn CD's or use your flash drive on computers at Blount Library.

Go green with the "Print" Button

If you are printing, be sure to use the database "Print" button to format pages economically without extra colors and borders.

Copy or Scan paper Documents

The library has a photocopy machine and self-service scanner that you can use to duplicate printed documents.

Interlibrary Loan Delivery

If you requested articles or book chapters from Interlibrary Loan (ILL), the library will, whenever possible, send a link for an electronic copy of the document to the email address you specified in your request.

ILL books for students taking classes on the Danville campus must be picked up and checkout at the library Circulation Desk. (Due dates and fine policies are strict as these items belong to another institution.)

Exercise 6

Retrieve a set of five or more full text articles on your topic from Averett library reference databases. Send a PDF or HTML copy of each article to yourself as an email attachment, or save the articles on your flash drive.

Be sure to record complete citations, including databases used, and dates when you viewed the articles online.
