  Search Committee Chair
Reasor Jackson E. Reasor, JCLD
Mr. Reasor, President & CEO of Old Dominion Electric Cooperative and the Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives, was born in Danville, Virginia. He is a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University and the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. He brings a strong background in financial services, law and government. Mr. Reasor previously served as Vice President of First Virginia Bank and President and CEO of Premier Trust Company in Bluefield. Prior to that he was a partner in the law firm of Galumbeck, Simmons and Reasor. From 1992 to 1998 he served as a Virginia State Senator representing the 38th District. As a Senator, he chaired three legislative subcommittees and is the former chair of the Coal and Energy Commission. Mr. Reasor joined Averett’s Board of Trustees in 2004 and is currently Chair Elect. He and his wife, Cynthia, reside in Richmond.

Hamlet Virginia W. Hamlet
Mrs. Hamlet is from Bassett, Virginia, and has her bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Virginia, graduating in 1985. She has been active in community and educational activities in and around Martinsville, Virginia. These efforts include roles as President of the Carlisle School Board of Directors and as a Trustee of the New College Institute in Martinsville. She is a new member of the Trustees of Averett University having begun her term in 2007. Mrs. Hamlet lives in Bassett with her husband, Butch and three sons, Harrison, Lee and Mitchell.
Lee Dale P. Lee
A native of Roanoke, Virginia, Mrs. Lee is Vice President and Corporate Secretary for RGC Resources, Inc. (Roanoke Gas Company). At RGC she has primary responsibility for rates and regulatory affairs, legislative affairs, legal, and financial planning. Mrs. Lee holds a bachelor’s degree from Roanoke College and an MBA from Radford University. Prior to joining RGC, she served as Senior Rate Analyst for American Electric Power, and was Chairman of the Math and Accounting Department at Roanoke’s National College of Business and Technology. A community leader, she serves as a member of the Virginia Coal and Energy Commission, Chair of the Board of Directors of Roanoke’s American Heart Association and serves on the Board of Directors of her local YMCA. Mrs. Lee joined the Averett Board of Trustees in 2006. She and her husband, Bob, live in Roanoke.
Riddle Mary M.G. Riddle
Mrs. Riddle is Vice President of the Atlanta-based Coca-Cola Company. A native of Danville, Mrs. Riddle has strong Virginia roots. She holds a degree in business from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mrs. Riddle began her second term on Averett’s Board of Trustees in 2005 having previously served with distinction from 1994 to 2003. She and her husband, Bill, are active in Oak Grove United Methodist Church where she serves on the Board of Trustees and is a past member of the Finance Committee and the Staff Parish Relations Committee. In addition, her community involvement includes service on the boards of the United Methodist Children’s Home and the HUB Counseling Center.
Roccesano Richard Roccesano, '81
Mr. Roccesano has been actively engaged in all facets of the commercial real estate industry since he graduated from Averett University. He started his real estate career with Galesi Realty Corporation and in 1986 he formed ROCK Development Corp. and continued to manage, lease and acquire numerous properties now owned by his investment firm, Mark Properties. He led as Executive Vice President of Mark Properties and continues to lead the company in its acquisitions, dispositions, repositioning and major leasing efforts. He has also assumed the duties as President of ROCK Development Corp. and is actively managing and developing several properties remaining in the portfolio along with Mark Properties Inc. as well as perusing various other business venture investments outside of the real estate industry. Mr. Roccesano currently serves as a Trustee of Averett University and is a Director of Downtown Durham, Inc., and The Galesi Family Foundation, Inc. He and his wife Susan and their two children Mia (6) and Luke (3) reside in Raleigh, NC.
Vigouroux John D. Vigouroux, '82
Mr. Vigouroux is a 1982 graduate of Averett University and recently joined Finjan, Inc. as President & CEO after over 25 years of experience leading private and public network security companies. Mr. Vigouroux was previously CEO of Cranite Systems, a secure network company based in Northern California. Prior to this, he was President and COO at Tumbleweed Communications as well as President and CEO at Valicert, which was acquired by Tumbleweed. Mr. Vigouroux has also held executive positions in both large multi-national enterprises such as Cisco, Adobe Systems, and GE Information Services, as well as several Silicon Valley startups. While at Averett, Mr. Vigouroux was a member of the highly successful Averett Men’s Soccer team and has been an Averett Trustee for three years.
Williams Ebb H. Williams, III, P.C.
Mr. Williams was born in Danville, Virginia, and is a graduate of the University of Richmond for both his bachelor’s degree and law degree from the T.C. Williams School of Law. He has practiced law in Martinsville, Virginia, since 1964 and has been a member of the Averett University Board of Trustees since 1982, serving numerous terms in leadership of Averett. Mr. Williams brings a wealth of experience and institutional history to the search committee having also served on the Board of Associates of the University of Richmond and the Virginia Law Foundation.

Davis Sue B. Davis, '72, '75, '81; Ed.D.
Dr. Davis has served as Superintendent of Danville Public Schools since 2004. Beginning her career as a classroom teacher, she has more than 30 years experience in public education. She holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Averett and an Ed.D. in educational administration from Virginia Polytechnic and State University. Dr. Davis is known for her leadership and community involvement. She serves on the Danville Community College Workforce Advisory Committee, the Workforce Investment Board Strategic Planning Team, the Workforce Investment Board Leadership Team and the area United Way Board.

Ausband Stephen C. Ausband, Ph.D.
Dr. Ausband joined Averett in 1970 and serves as Chair of the University’s Department of English. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Guilford College and a master’s and doctorate from Tulane University. Ausband is a noted author, outdoorsman and scholar. He has written more than 100 articles on literature, mythology and outdoor recreation. Ausband is the author of three books including the 2006 Outdoors Year Round: A Guide to Fishing and Hunting in Coastal Virginia and North Carolina. He is a native of Kernersville, North Carolina, and currently lives in Milton.

Obenchain Alice Obenchain-Leeson, '92; DBA
Dr. Obenchain-Leeson has more than 20 years experience in business, financial services, higher education administration and consulting. She currently serves Averett as Assistant Professor of Business Administration teaching in the University’s Graduate and Professional Studies Program. In addition to holding her MBA from Averett, she holds a doctorate of business administration degree from Nova Southeastern University with concentrations in management and marketing. She is the author of numerous articles and is a frequent presenter at academic conferences. She resides in Roanoke, Virginia.

Bradley Amanda Bradley
Ms. Bradley is an Averett senior majoring in Bio-Medical Sciences. She is President of the Student Government Association for 2007-2008, having previously served as Vice President. She volunteers for the Red Cross, Big Brothers Big Sisters and assists Averett as an instructor during freshman orientation. Ms. Bradley has completed internships with Morehead Hospital, Abercrombie Physical Therapy and Riverside Rehabilitation Institute. She hails from Hampton, Virginia.
Combs Nancy A. Combs
Ms. Combs is pursuing her bachelor of business administration degree through Averett’s Graduate and Professional Studies Program. She has earned Dean’s List recognition for her academic achievement and was elected Class Representative. In addition to her studies, Ms. Combs serves as Academic Programs Coordinator and Executive Assistant at Danville’s Institute for Advanced Learning and Research. Her prior experience includes serving as Training and Customer Service Coordinator and Project Coordinator for Gamewood Healthcare Network, Inc.

Mullins Stephanie T. Mullins, '83
Mrs. Mullins graduated from Averett in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in English with teacher licensure. She taught eighth grade English in Pittsylvania County before returning to her alma mater in 1992 as a financial aid counselor. In 1997,  she transferred to the Averett Admissions Office where she currently serves as associate director of admissions,  working closely with transfer students and international students. Mrs. Mullins lives in Danville where she is active in The Tabernacle church. She and her husband, Jim, have two daughters — Sarah and Erin.

Harris Charles S. Harris
Mr. Harris joined Averett as Director of Athletics in 2004 and currently serves as Vice President for Student Services. Prior to joining Averett, Mr. Harris amassed an impressive record of leadership that includes having served as Commissioner of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at Arizona State University and as Director of the Division of Recreation and Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Pennsylvania. While at Arizona State, Mr. Harris established a student services unit that has been used as a model by the NCAA. He served on the negotiating team that resulted in the relocation of the NFL’s St. Louis Cardinals to the Phoenix area as well as the committee that brought the 1996 Super Bowl to Arizona State. He has held many of the top NCAA committee positions and currently serves on the NCAA Division III Football Committee. In addition, he is a partner in Excel Development Systems, Inc., a Greensboro, NC, based management consulting firm.

Maddux Franklin W. Maddux, MD FACP, Ex Officio
Dr. Maddux is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He is a board certified nephrologist having practiced since 1989 with the Danville Urologic Clinic and serving as Chairman of the organization from 1995 to 2005. He is a founder and currently serves as Chief Medical Officer of Specialty Care Services Group, a diversified healthcare services company based in Nashville, Tennessee. He also founded Gamewood, Inc., a regional technology, networking and telecom company, and its spin-off, Health IT Services Group providing web-based electronic health records to medical practices. Dr. Maddux has worked closely with Fresenius Medical Care of North America to develop that company’s national Chronic Kidney Disease strategy. He is currently Chair of the Board of Trustees for Averett University having served for the past seven years as an Averett Trustee. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of Vanderbilt University and also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of American National Bank and Trust Company (NASDAQ:AMNB), the Renal Physicians Association and the Mid Atlantic Renal Coalition.
