Averett University On-Campus Residency Requirement
Averett University is a residential university that requires its traditional, undergraduate students who live outside a 30 miles radius of Danville to live on campus for three years, except as stated below. Averett is committed to a vibrant residential community and to the educational value of living in such a setting.
Exceptions to this policy are:
Students who are not in one of the above categories but desire to move off campus must petition to do so. The housing exemption committee evaluates such requests. Though each request for a residency waiver is evaluated on its own merits, most of the waivers granted fall into one of two categories:
The Committee does not exempt students from the residency requirement solely on the basis of the following:
Requests for waiver of the residency requirement may be made in the form of a letter detailing specific reasons for such an exception. All requests are considered in the Spring preceding the academic year a student is requesting to live off campus.
Requesting Off-Campus Housing Deadlines
Early Request Deadline: April 1, 2010
*Must participate in housing selection if not approved.
Final Deadline to File a Request: June 1, 2010
