About Tuition and Fees

Tuition in our accelerated programs varies by campus and type of degree. To request information on tuition and fees choose your location and degree program.

Flexible and Affordable Ways to Pay
Averett's tuition is competitive, and our accelerated format allows students to realize the return on their educational investment sooner than traditional programs.
Students enrolled in Averett's accelerated programs for working professionals also enjoy the option of paying for one course at a time allowing for easier budget planning. In addition, many companies reimburse part or all of an employee's Averett tuition.

Full-Time Status
Students are considered full-time for financial aid purposes provided the student is continuously enrolled. However, students enrolled in the accelerated program are not eligible for the Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG).

Award Year
An award year consists of a minimum of 24 credits AND 40 weeks for undergraduate students (21 credits AND 40 weeks for graduate students). Students must complete all credits and weeks of attendance before they are eligible to receive additional funding for the next award year. An award year will be extended when there are failed, overlapped, or doubled-up classes involved, delaying future aid eligibility. You will need to reapply for financial aid prior to the end of your Academic Year (successful completion of 24 credits AND 40 weeks for Undergraduate and 21 credits AND 40 weeks for Graduate students). Notices are emailed to students when it is time to reapply for financial aid.

Loan Disbursements
Loan funds will be disbursed in two disbursements. The second disbursement will not occur until half of the credits (can vary from 12-16 credits) AND half of the weeks in the award period have been successfully completed.

Graduate Students
Graduate students may apply for Federal Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loans, and for Federal Work-Study employment. Graduate fellowships, grants, tuition benefits, or tuition waivers must count as resources for students who apply for financial aid. Therefore, federal loan and work eligibility may be reduced if graduate benefits are received. Graduate students are not eligible for Federal Pell Grant.
